Ukraine, The Narrative And Even Arnold Schwarzenegger

Confusing the matter is an art when seated at the table of the intellectuals. It should be an inconceivable undertaking with millions of smart phones, cameras everywhere and satellites of all kinds including military and civilian ones covering hot spots globally. Paradoxically, everyone seems to be confused about what really did happen in Ukraine. Depending on the opinion you profess, you will be qualified as a pro Russian supporter – or not. But what are the real facts? Those that are empirical, that no one should be able to contest, even if willing to do so. To understand the region, one should start to study the records from some 400 years ago. But we will not ask such an intellectual exercise from a modern public who rate everything pre the Britney Spears 'era' as something relevant only to human prehistory. Trouble in Ukraine began since the breakup of the Soviet Union despite the fact that Ukraine did not know a bloody transition after the Soviet era, contrary to many of the other Soviet Republics. These problems became quite clear when in 2004 with the Orange Revolution where Viktor Yanukovitch first declared victory in the Presidential election and was then forced to permit a rerun of the election by the pressure of 1 million people protesting on The Maidan against his victory. We will not speak of the many dramas of this period, the rise of Yulia Tymoshenko, the future Prime Minister or the poisoning of the future President, Victor Yushchenko. All these events contribute to an understanding that the roots of the problem did not start with the first Russian tank rolling across the Russo/ Ukrainian border. It is however important to note that Yanukovitch who was close to the outgoing President Lenoid Kravchuk and arguably the preferred candidate of the Kremlin, did not use any leverage to firstly disperse the crowds on the Maidan during the Orange Revolution nor secondly to appeal to his supporters to create trouble or upheaval. The author of these lines remembers well that during a debate between the two candidates in 2004, Yanukovitch and Yushchenko, in the run-up to the second election, both parties quite virulently accused each other of planning the separation and splitting of the country into two. It will appear to anyone that followed this debate or lived in Ukraine during this period that no parties had the separation of the country in mind and none were wishing to do so. It is an important point and we will return to it later. However the year that it all relates to is 2014.

But the facts remain: Yulia Tymoshenko was jailed because the criminal charges stood up in court.

What are the hard facts? Yanukovitch was back in power, elected by the whole population of Ukraine in what was considered by International Observers as a regular and democratically held will of the people vote. Everyone agrees with that. This is verified even through Wikipedia, which is far from being regarded as a reference. The unfortunate losing candidate was Yulia Tymoshenko. With Victor Yushenko, the ex- president of Ukraine; she was one of the heroes of the Orange Revolution. So why was Victor Yanukovitch(not known to be less corrupt among the Ukrainian politicians) known to be close to Russia, back in power so quickly after the Orange Revolution? Simply, because the heroes of the revolution and particularly Yulia Tymoshenko and President Yushchenko failed their supporters by becoming heavily embroiled in corruption and political scandal. An uncontested fact: Yulia Tymoshenko was charged with criminal corruption including ‘abuse of office’ in a gas import deal with Russia and tax evasion and finally incarcerated. Later on, during the early days of The Maidan revolution, this condemnation of Tymoshenko was subtly changed in the Press as being politically motivated. But the facts remain: Yulia Tymoshenko was jailed because the criminal charges stood up in court. Now if the reader would like to freeze the time to 2014 when a popular uprising is back in Kiev on the Maidan. Yanukovitch had cut a deal preferring Russia rather than the EU for the economic package on offer, a move which did not please the part of the population present at the time who were partisans of the EU deal and package. Yanukovitch as the President (we insist on saying he was far from being a saint) refused to use drastic force on the protestors (a fact that no one seems to contest.)

Among the protestors, were American Officials (Confirmed by many photographs in the mainstream media) and among them was Victoria Nuland who was encouraging the protestors who were openly wishing to overthrow the government, while she was negotiating with the same government on the same day. Whichever way you look at it, this fact is considered by any normal political analyst as public meddling in the internal affairs of a sovereign state. To add insult to injury, she was on the very soil of this sovereign country and the guest of its democratically elected government. If one could eventually, and some did at the time, consider this move of Neuland as a diplomatic faux pas, one has since lost his illusions. It was revealed later that there was method and execution in the ‘madness’ of Neuland, revealed by the scandal of the phone calls where Neuland suggested the composition of the future new Ukrainian government. This revelation caused a diplomatic scandal. (Fact-checked) We will not add more regarding the vociferous Republican Senator McCain among the crowd and on the podium addressing the protestors. In the meantime, the protests shifted from being peaceful to very violent (we are not accussing anyone of being the source of this violence except we are pretty sure about the identities of the main arsonists, but this is not considered a fact). In front of the ‘popular’ uprising that stormed the public buildings, Yanukovitch fled to Russia. We have to stop on the words ‘popular uprising’. One has to remember that Yanukovitch was voted in by the electorate (population) of the entire country of Ukraine and he was ousted by a crowd that never attained the mythical number of the 1 million strong crowds that were seen in 2004 on the Maidan during the Orange Revolution. Furthermore this crowd was hostile to the government of Yanukovitch whose fiefdom was Eastern Ukraine, which was the seat of his power. From this moment, the government that followed the demise of Victor Yanukovitch was one born from a coup instigated by a mob according to Russia. According to the western Press and their governments, it was by a popular uprising. Irrelevant of the side on which you stand, the Crimeans and Eastern Ukrainians or for that matter, any Ukrainian, had reason not to recognise a government for whom they had not voted, which came to power forcing its way in through violence. Crimea had an autonomous stature and in fact had all the right in Law to take steps to cede from Ukraine. From the moment the Ukrainian Government changed, there was no democracy in Ukraine. The BBC, CNN and all western media and diplomats were totally unscrupulous and deliberately fooled their populations when they stated that Ukraine is a democracy as an unchallengeable fact. The right of Crimea to secede from Ukraine and the rise of an illegal government in Kiev make that cessation a totally logical step for the Russian dominated population of the Peninsula.

"...deliberately misinforming their readers with outright lies...

Today there is another fake that Journalists use constantly when they name the Russian speaking population of Donbass the’ Pro Russian Separatists’. It is a very important for mainstream media to do so because it triggers in the public’s mind that it is a war waged by Russia in which some part of the Ukrainian population is supporting them. This is a blatant lie and all the papers carrying this should have been sanctioned for carrying fake news and deliberately misinforming their readers with outright lies. The DPR/LPR has never raised the issue of separatism from Ukraine, they only wanted autonomy so that they could use their own language and culture at home in their territory. This is not separatism, but this basic right of using your own language was refused by the Kiev authorities who revoked the status of the Russian language as an official language of Ukraine as a regional language in 2014, immediately after the government changed. This was followed up by a murderous campaign against the Donbass population which has claimed the lives of 14 thousand people. The victims were civilians; defenders of the Donbass and of course the Ukrainian forces. The western mainstream media and NATO want you to forget that completely or at least to dismiss and ignore that. Any normal human being should stop here to ask themselves the questions: Why are the lives of thousands of Russian speakers not accountable despite the fact that all the evidence has been perfectly documented? In what sense are the lives of those who are supposed to have fallen in Bucha in a time of intense conflict where facts are at their best blurred counted as more important than them? The moral human being should ask, would anything like that have happened if the world had given attention to the tragedy that was unfolding in the Donbass? But today, it may be pointless to try desperately to scream about injustice. We have to take the measure of what has been implemented in the notion of the ‘information war’. Wars are waged in a way so that your adversary knows no moment of calm under the impact of multiple offensives. If you are able to maintain the effort, then you are able to keep the initiative. They are not giving you the information that is necessary for you to raise your awareness of the situation. They need your unconditional support. There is no room for decency or acknowledging a gallant move made by the adversary. The ‘information war ‘is here to make you feel enraged and the cherry on the cake would be that you decide after being brainwashed to join the foreign legion of Ukraine.

"...Wars are waged in a way so that your adversary knows no moment of calm...

To end, we will proceed to a video analysis to understand how insane we have felt in the absurdity of the situation. A rapid breakdown of the video made two months ago by Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor turned Governor, made shortly after the beginning of the hostilities as an address to the Russian population. Why do we take this video of Arnold and not one of Zelensky, Lavrov or any important actor in the situation is because 'Arnie' is not really considered as a politician out of the USA and loved by most. This video cost our official account to lose one prominent scientist who did not like the response from our commentator. It is undeniable that the video was a success everywhere it was posted as it claimed a minimum of 35,000 up to 1.1 million ‘Views’ and in itself, it is an achievement in terms of public relations but without substance, out of context and full of lies. Filled with emotion which claims most of the video’s length a synonym of how the West has approached this conflict, i.e., with emotions and not facts. At 03:16 minutes into the video, the ex Governor explains that he gave the address just like when he addressed the American people about the attempted insurrection on 06/01/2021 when a wild crowd was storming the Capitol in Washington "trying to overthrow our ‘government". He even went on to say that these moments are so wrong that we must speak up about them. Thank you Mr Schwarzenegger as that is exactly the point which destroys all the nonsense of your 'address'. If that moment was so wrong and was sufficient to enrage any patriotic citizen of the United States, what then was Victoria Neuland doing in 2014 on the Maiden hysterically supporting the overthrow of an elected government with sidekicks like the known hawk McCain? How should we understand the logic that what is not acceptable in the United States is perfectly acceptable elsewhere when it suits the agenda of the United States? The rest of the video is so mawkish that it suits only the purpose of reaffirming a tissue of lies and mis-information. It repeated like all the mainstream media that Zelenskyy could not be a supporter of Nazism because of his own Jewish ancestry. Arnold may have been a good actor and decent Governor of California but he is ignoring history either deliberately or through ignorance. There are many Jews throughout history that have been anti-Semitic and we will not even argue that Zelensky is some kind of quisling for his own people. However ignoring the Ultra Nationalist element that have a heavy hand in the Government of Ukraine is ignoring those responsible for the rapes, murders and destruction in the Donbass. That is why no Russian people have shed a single tear about the situation that befell the same monsters trapped in the labyrinth of Azovstal. For Arnold Schwarzenegger, Vladimir Putin should have assisted to the annihilation of the Donbass population from an unchecked and criminal Ukrainian Army conveniently forgetting that the first duty of the Russian President is towards his people, just as no American President would have stood by and watched the massacre of thousands of American people. Russia has not been shown the respect she deserved, but instead was ignored when her President spoke about ‘red lines’. The security concerns of this great Eastern Power were dismissed. Today we are all paying the price. We have not done this editorial in the hope of changing anyone’s mind. We have come to terms with the fact this is not in our power. Today millions if not billions of good people are being fooled and that situation will not be changed as long as those in power in the West remain in charge. Tomorrow the Russians may totally win this war and the West will not apologise even if awash with the evidence of Ukraine’s culpability. Masters and the generals at the helm of the ‘Information War’ will shift the focus of the public with the sudden apparition of a virus or anything else that comes to mind. One thing is sure; this gigantic propaganda operation has showed many countries what they can expect when having an enraged Western population against them. It is probably the last operation of this kind because Europe’s credibility has been affected to an unparalleled degree in history. We do not hope for a change in trajectory. The West has shot itself in the foot and will from now on descend into the obscurantism of total control over its population, an anathema for the rest of the world. Whether we like it or not, the sun is rising in the East and the future belongs to those men who hope and will strive to make a better world.
