I remember an old song from the 1960’s by Country Joe and the Fish which went “And its 1, 2, 3, what are we fighting for? I don’t know or give a damn, next stop is Vietnam. And it’s 5, 6, 7 open up the Pearly Gates, I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but Whoopee, we’re all gonna die”. A true anti war anthem as it became during the Vietnam War. With the unravelling of the West’s hegemony led by the USA and to a lesser but still great extent by the United Kingdom, there is a possibility that is slowly taking shape that the endless war scenario that most of the Global South (formerly the 3rd world) and much of the so called free world has lived under and suffered, will come largely to an end. There are several pertinent reasons for this but the main one is quite simple, the West is broke. With the Francophone countries of Africa throwing off the economic yoke placed around their necks by France, the refusal of countries like Venezuela, Iran, Yemen and others to bend to the USA and the West’s demands and of course, the insane costly debacle of trying to break countries economically like Russia (also militarily)and China failing spectacularly. This has led to the decades old constant supply of cheap raw materials and labour drying up leaving the western economies unable to raise the much needed and incessant flow of income to enable them to import goods and services at minimal cost while producing very little themselves.

How did this develop is the question many ask? For the majority of the public in the west, the answer is still evading them due to 3 main factors, the dumbing down of the Education systems, the constant manipulation of mainstream media (which most of the public take as the truth or gospel) by those in power pushing their agendas and the fact that few people will question anything or rock the boat if their comfort zone is not disturbed overly. The education systems in most western nations have been undermined by the advent of ‘woke’ culture, a process that has been steadily increasing over 5 decades and was subtly implemented so as not to raise suspicion until it was too late. The difference between black and white was purposely muddied so that only grey remained and there was no longer any absolute truisms but instead only relativistic claptrap. Every kind of deviancy and unwholesomeness was acceptable, often publicly displayed and anyone challenging this was labelled a heretic or right wing fascist. Parenthood, the sanctity of the family, the innocence of childhood and the truth about many matters especially historical ones was eroded to the point where anything went. The public (the so called ‘silent majority) kept their mouths shut and their heads down for fear of being ridiculed and in many cases, charged with ridiculous legal offences which were often fabricated to discredit them as many can testify like Julian Assange, Russell Brandt (currently facing spurious charges) and Gonzalo Lira (who was killed by the Ukrainian Security Services, the SBU). Added to this was the rewriting of history so that those under 30 years of age fully believed the version they were taught and the constant removal of the true historical facts and slow replacement by perverse half truths. Wikipedia, once regarded as reliable to a large extent is the perfect example of this state of affairs. It must be pointed out that ‘History is written by the victors’ but the accepted version we all use is for the most, accurate to around 80+%. Another good example is the Ukrainian Kiev regimes purposeful implementation of a completely false narrative about Ukraine’s history so that the western press, politicians and public believed that Ukraine had existed for over 1000 years as a sovereign nation in its own right when this is completely fabricated, bearing no relation to the historical factual data.

The MSM (main stream media) manipulation was carried out very smoothly as the advertising gurus of the west were brought into play and used subtle techniques including stars from the entertainment industries to provide ‘legitimacy’ in the eyes of the gullible public with the addition of the usual pundits, politicians and even the Papacy. Very spurious claims, data and facts were often produced without ever giving full accreditation which could be independently verified and instead were passed on to the public as gospel truth. Good examples of this were the Bucha massacres supposedly carried out by Russian troops which are fully officially discredited and the various Russiagate scandals in the USA and UK/EU, also laid to rest as the role of the so called ‘intelligence’ agencies was exposed. MSM when caught out just blithely carries on and ignores the issue as if it had never occurred. The public in the West and those ignorant enough in the rest of the world to follow and believe MSM still believe the lies and half truths they are fed. Thus the hegemonic agendas of the various parties like the USA, the UK, the WEF, the globalists, the neocons and the EU loonies are drip fed to the populations of these groups so keeping the agenda on track at least in the nations following these ideas.

The old saying that the world in virtually every nation is composed of a ‘silent majority’ is still true today as the overwhelming majority of people pay little attention to global politics and world affairs other than commenting upon them at dinner or if they are brought up in conversation. They will follow what they believe are issues pertinent to their wellbeing completely misunderstanding how many of these are shaped by the issues on the global stage. This is manipulated so that like mushrooms, they are fed on BS and kept in the dark making them less likely to interfere in the power politics being implemented. It is easy to keep them compliant by ensuring that those openly and publicly questioning the agendas are shamed and often persecuted (and prosecuted) to ensure silence. The increasing cost of living and difficulty making ends meet has made a large percentage of the public too tired and overwhelmed by the need to stay afloat for them to even question what has been happening, supposedly in their names and for their good. The youth are given issues like Global Warming with figureheads the can relate to like Greta Thunberg to keep them occupied and feeling that they count and can make a difference. Real issues like the Genocide carried out by Israel with the backing of the USA, UK and EU are sidelined and not accounted for in MSM outlets so feeding a false picture of who is the victim allowing the killing to continue. The attack by Israel on Iran under the pretence of being ‘pre-emptive’ is yet the latest in the west’s determination to loot the Middle East of its oil and gas deposits carrying little adverse media attention on MSM and western media. Instead the media portray Israel as the ‘victim’ in direct contradiction of the facts of the matter.

With the arrival on the international scene of the BRICs, ASEAN and other economic and political groups offering mutual respect, higher profits and more transparent business alliances, the dependence on western markets, technology and financial systems has lessened. More and more nations in the Global South as well as the East have started paying in their own currencies or using other currencies rather than the Dollar to transact. They are tired of being held hostage to bad deals, unfair business practices and financial charges which are simply usury at the very least. The fall of the Dollar is moving closer by the day as its status as the only ‘Reserve Currency’ globally diminishes which is exacerbated by the fact that the USA is in debt for officially over 35 Trillion Dollars, a debt it might default on in August 2025 according to the Federal Reserve. In truth, the total debt of the USA is over 100 Trillion US Dollars if the unfunded obligations for Medicare and Social Security are added in, so making the insolvency crisis even greater. No one in Washington will acknowledge this debt as they do not have a clue as to how to solve it. The USA has funded its debts by selling Treasury Bonds which are increasingly being ‘dumped’ by the nations who have purchased and held onto them for decades as a ‘fail safe’ reserve currency along with US Dollars. China reduced its holdings substantially reducing its position from second largest holder for the first time in 25 years. Japan has become the largest holder but has also made it clear to the Trump administration in the US that it will use their holdings as a tool in the current ‘Tariff War’ that the US is waging globally. Russia has reduced its holding of Treasury bonds to a paltry 25Million US Dollars in 2018 so obviating any reliance on the Dollar’s exchange rate as has China which reduced its holdings. The UK, the EU and nations like Japan, South Korea and other western states are holding very large amounts of Treasury Bonds which along with finding their products and services are no longer sought after by the rest of the world who have cheaper and often better alternatives available from China, India, Russia, Vietnam and Indonesia among others, means for them too, the money has dried up. The western economies are already in recession with only Germany admitting this is the case. The EU has demanded a vast increase in the amount each member state contributes towards implementing and progressively building an EU Military to run alongside NATO.The EU member states are categorically stating they cannot afford to do this with France being the first to publicly say so. The big fear in the EU is that America will withdraw from NATO or at the very least, demand that the EU nations start for the first time to pay their full share of the cost in maintaining it.

For over a century, the West has maintained their hegemony by means which include bribery, colour revolutions, assassinations and the constant supply of weapons, training and indoctrination to ‘disaffected’ members of many of the world’s countries so that the regime they put in place requires their help to remain in power. Their ‘help’ through various NGO’s, NPO’s, charities, foundations and above all educational, political and administrative agencies has ensured that with their control of the world’s financial systems, they have retained overall control so benefitting at everyone else’s cost. This has ended for the large part as the defunding of USAID and other programs has shown. To further ensure their control, they maintained ‘bases’ in many parts of the world so they could swiftly put down any outbreaks of ‘real democracy’ which ran counter to their objectives. There are and always have been opponents of these bases in the countries in which they are situated with the Francophone nations in Africa recently demanding their removal and forcing them out. Japan is no longer happy to have them there as are many South American nations so the trend is continuing. Having to maintain, arm and staff these bases is extremely costly and can no longer be continued if the money supply dries up as it is already leading to problems at home as the governments attempt to curtail welfare, medical, educational and other social programs for their populations so as to be able to pay for them.

So regarding the title of this article, if the above is correct, then what is the outcome? Well, to put it bluntly, the big bad wolf is no longer able to wave the big stick convincingly. The complete routing of the vaunted American Naval Fleet by the Houthis of Yemen with only drones and missiles, most of which cost a fraction of the USA’s overblown tech, and no Navy to speak of, sent a clear message that the almighty USA is vulnerable and you do not need to be a global power to undermine or face them off. The fact that a large percentage of western military technology was shown to be mostly second rate at best compared to the Russian military hardware in the Ukraine/Russia war and that both Russia and China had by far passed the USA and the West in hypersonic missile technology as well as drone technology, undermined the myth of western military supremacy. Many small nations took note and in Africa in particular, they evicted the western occupying troops, mainly French, which were there under the guise of ensuring safety, stability and democracy but really to ensure the western colonists ongoing hegemony. It must also be noted that on Wednesday 11/06/2025, the US President Donald Trump admitted that the USA is low on ammunition and the head of NATO, Mark Rutte admitted that Russia and China can produce weaponry and ammunition at more than 4 times the rate that NATO countries combined can, making a War with either nation a foregone defeat for the western nations. Apart from the prospect of using nuclear weapons in which case everyone loses contrary to the imbecilic pronouncements emanating from the Pentagon and various neocons think tanks, the Western nations require a minimum of 3 to 5 years to enable them to bring their munitions production up to speed without counting the necessity of restructuring and upgrading all the infrastructure necessary to enable this to happen. Then there is the cost.

The United States and the EU have openly demanded that they upgrade their military and that this includes the provision of producing the necessary weapons and armaments they require, all supposedly to counter the threat posed to their hegemony by Russia, China, Iran, and the BRICs etc. This according to the USA is a 1 Trillion dollar cost, to the EU a 1½ Trillion Euro cost and for them and all the others like Japan, South Korea and of course the UK, the cost cannot be met without real cutbacks in welfare, social programs, health and education. How they will get their populations to accept this is a question that carries with it the very real prospect of a severe backlash possibly leading to new elections as the governments in power fall or an authoritarian coup against the people by those holding the reins of power. Either scenario is not an easily implemented one as it will have instant effects on the economy, the cost of living and of course, the ability to increase the debt of these nations by printing more ‘fiat’ money as a means to borrow and pay for it all. Inevitably, these lead to a decrease in the nation’s currencies value so decreasing solvency and pushing up prices further so that a upward spiral of increasing costs ensues.

The west is faced with losing its reliance on easy profits at the expense of the rest of the world unless they can brutally convince the globe that they still have the power to crush any nation that does not accept the ‘rules based order’ which they enforce. This includes the ‘soft’ approach of constant destabilisation of nations who refuse to obey as this too is expensive and becoming more difficult as nations eject all the apparatus the west uses under the pretext of ‘aid’ and ‘help’. The same game cannot be played endlessly given the universe’s immutable law that all matter degrades and changes, in other words, nothing is forever. Is this the opening most of the globes people have been yearning for? There is a light starting to shine, the glimmer of the end of a cycle and the opening of a new one. Maybe, we will see positive changes for us all and an end to continuous conflicts and wars and imposed poverty that afflict the majority of the people living on planet Earth today.
